2. Toilet Tank Dump Valve Leak Test (Fig. 501)

A. General
(1) This test examines the toilet tank dump valve for leaks. You must repeat this test for each toilet on the airplane.

Do the servicing procedure for the toilet tank but drain the chemical precharge after five minutes (AMM 12-17-00/301).

Do not close the service panel drain valve.

(3) S 415-019Close the toilet tank dump valve.
NOTE:____ Let the dump valve handle move suddenly into the closed position to make sure there is a positive seat for the valve.
(4) S 865-017Fill the toilet tank with approximately 10 gallons of water.
(5) S 015-096Remove the toilet tank shroud.
(6) S 015-093On toilet systems with the ball valve, do these steps to open the ball valve: (a) Disconnect the tank dump valve cable from the ball valve cable. (b) Use the cable handle at the service panel to pull the ball valve open.
(7) S 215-027Examine the flush line and flush line connections for leaks. (a) Tighten any clamps that are loose and replace any lines or connectors that have damage.
(8) S 215-028Examine the service panel for leakage. (a) If you find leakage, do these steps: 1) Drain the toilet tank and keep the tank dump valve open. 2) Look through the bottom of the toilet bowl and locate the tank outlet. 3) Look for and remove the debris that does not let the tank dump valve close correctly. 4) If no debris is present, close the tank dump valve.

5) Make sure the cable for the tank dump valve is adjusted correctly and can move freely. 6) If the cable is satisfactorily installed, replace the tank dump valve (AMM 38-32-31/401). 7) Examine the bottom of the rubber boot on the valve for damage. 8) If the rubber boot is damaged, replace the tank dump valve (AMM 38-32-31/401). 9) Feel the tank outlet surface that makes a seal with the valve for chips, cracks and roughness.
NOTE: Use rubber gloves with long sleeves.

10) If the tank outlet is damaged, replace the tank (AMM 38-32-51/401).
F. Return the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition
