B. The cable and casing assembly has the inner cable, the casing, and the slider mechanism that attaches to the service panel and the sleeve subassembly. The sum of these parts is referred to as the cable assembly in this procedure. Replace the cable assembly if the casing, the slider mechanism or sleeve subassembly are damaged.
C. The sleeve subassembly is attached to the toilet tank or near the toilet tank.
(1)
The sleeve subassemblies for the modular lavatories A, F, D, and E are attached to a bracket on the toilet tank.
(2)
The sleeve subassemblies for the lavatories B and C are attached to a bracket just under the lavatory floor.
D. If only the inner cable has damage, you can replace the cable only. When you replace the cable only, you must make sure the replacement cable is made by the same supplier as the used cable.
E. The cable assembly for the toilet systems with the ball valve installed has two parts; the top cable assembly and the lower cable assembly. The steps to replace the inner cable for the lower assembly are not included in this procedure because it cannot be easily done in-situ. For a broken inner cable in the lower cable assembly, we recommend that the lower cable assembly be replaced.
F. The terms upstream and downstream are used to locate some of the parts of the cable assembly. The term upstream shall be taken to indicate the direction that is towards the toilet tank. The term downstream shall be taken to indicate the direction towards the service panel.
