6. Toilet Tank Components and Piping Leak Test
___________________________________________
A. General
(1) This test uses gravity to check the drain piping and toilet tank components for leaks. Do this test when the toilet tank, tank components, or the waste piping have been disturbed.

D. Procedure

(1)
Do the servicing procedure for the toilet tank but drain the chemical precharge after five minutes (AMM 12-17-00/301).

Close the service panel drain valve.

Fill the toilet tank until the water is approximately half way up the toilet bowl.

Remove the toilet tank shroud.

Open the toilet tank dump valve.

Examine the drain line connections under the toilet tank and at the service panel for leaks.
(a) If there are leaks at the connection under the tank, do these steps: 1) Tighten the clamp if it is loose. 2) Replace the drain tube or drain tube adapter if it is
damaged.

(7) Examine the tank top, the toilet bowl, the inlet, and the outlet fittings on top of the assembly for leakage.
(a) Tighten any clamps that are loose and if it is necessary, replace the hoses, seals, gaskets or fittings that have leaks.
