WASTE WATER DRAIN MAST - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General_______
A. This procedure has two tasks. The first task removes the drain mast. The second task installs the drain mast.

D. Procedure

(1) Remove the drain mast (Fig. 401).
(a)
Open the DRAIN MAST HEATER circuit breakers on the P18 panel and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags.
(b)
For the aft drain mast, do the steps that follow:
1) Remove the access panel from the aft bulkhead in the aft cargo compartment.
NOTE: Drain mast is 4-1/2 feet behind bulkhead.

(c)
For the forward drain mast, do the steps that follow:
1) Get access to the drain mast on the left hand air conditioning fairing panel.
(d)
Pull the insulation blanket away from the drain mast.
(e)
Loosen the clamp and disconnect the drain mast tube.
(f)
Disconnect the electrical wires at the splices.
CAUTION:_______WHEN YOU REMOVE THE FASTENERS, HOLD THE DRAIN MAST. IF THE DRAIN MAST FALLS, DAMAGE CAN OCCUR.
(g)
Remove the fasteners for the drain mast.
(h)
Remove the drain mast.
(i)
Remove and clean the aerodynamic smoother and faying surface seal (AMM 51-31-00/201).
