 9.  Water Quantity Transmitter (Fig. 2)__________________________
 A.  The water quantity transmitter attaches to the top of the water tank. The transmitter receives a signal from a float-type sensor inside the water tank. Changes in the water level cause different switches in the transmitter to be energized, controlling illumination of water quantity indicator bulbs.
 10. Water Quantity Indicator (Fig. 1 and 2)________________________
 A.  The water quantity indicator is above the aft service door. When the pushbutton on the indicator is pushed, the applicable bulb(s) illuminate to show water quantity in 1/4-tank increments.
 11. Operation (Fig. 2)_________
 A.  Operation of the potable water system is automatic and requires no action by the crew other than manually resetting the lavatory water heater overheat switches.

 POTABLE WATER SYSTEM - SERVICING
________________________________
 1.  General_______
 A.  This procedure contains these tasks:
 (1)  
Drain the potable water tank.

 (2)  
Disinfectant the potable water system.

 (3)  
Manually clean the potable water tank.


 B.  It is necessary to fully drain the water system before you add a
 disinfectant or when you park the airplane in cold weather.

 C.  If the potable water system is not drained or in normal service a minimum of one time each three days, the growth of bacteria can occur. If bacteria growth continues, and you drink the water, illness can result.
 D.  The water system should be drained or in normal service at least every 3 days and fresh water added to the system to prevent the growth of bacteria.
 E.  Use a disinfectant regularly in the potable water system. Use a disinfectant after you complete a maintenance procedure on the water system or if the water system is contaminated.
 F.  The water system should be disinfected routinely at regular intervals, whenever it is contaminated or when maintenance is performed that could cause contamination.

 2.  Passenger Water System Draining Procedure_________________________________________
 A.  General
 WARNING: IF THE POTABLE WATER SYSTEM IS NOT DRAINED OR IN NORMAL SERVICE
_______ A MINIMUM OF ONE TIME EACH THREE DAYS, THE GROWTH OF BACTERIA CAN OCCUR. IF BACTERIA GROWTH CONTINUES, AND YOU DRINK THE WATER, ILLNESS CAN OCCUR.
 (1)  The water system should be drained or in normal service at least every 3 days and fresh water added to the system to prevent the growth of bacteria.
