WARNING: YOU MUST RELEASE THE PRESSURE IN THE RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM
_______ BEFORE YOU DISCONNECT ANY PLUMBING CONNECTIONS. IF THERE IS PRESSURE IN THE SYSTEM, FLUID CAN SUDDENLY COME OUT WHEN YOU LOOSEN A CONNECTION. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1)
Do this task: "Release the Pressure in the Rain Repellent System" (Ref 30-43-00/201).

(2)
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P18 Panel
1) RAIN REPELLENT L
2) RAIN REPELLENT R

(3) Set the the shutoff valve at the rain repellent container to the horizontal (closed) position.

(4) Lower the pilot's instrument panel to get access to the tubing for the spray nozzle assembly.

WARNING:_______DO NOT LET RAIN REPELLENT FLUID TOUCH YOUR SKIN OR EYES. THE FLUID CAN CAUSE IRRITATION. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES. IF THE FLUID TOUCHES YOU, WASH YOUR SKIN OR EYES WITH WATER.
(5) Remove the spray nozzle:
(a)
Loosen the jamnut on the spray nozzle assembly.
(b)
Remove the nozzle and the jamnut.
(c)
Remove the nut and washer that hold the bulkhead fitting to the airplane structure.
(d)
Loosen the jamnut that locks the bulkhead fitting to the solenoid valve.
(e)
Remove the bulkhead fitting.
(f)
Remove the O-ring, the backup ring, the jamnut, and the seal from the bulkhead fitting.

D. Procedure

(1) Assemble the bulkhead fitting to the solenoid valve:
(a)
Install the seal on the top of the bulkhead fitting.
(b)
Install the jamnut, backup ring, and the O-ring on the lower end of the bulkhead fitting.
(c)
Attach the bulkhead fitting to the valve.
(d)
Tighten the jamnut on the spray nozzle assembly.
