C. Procedure
S 864-001
(1) Open these circuit breakers for the applicable engine and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:
(a) P18 Panel 1) ENG COWL ANTI-ICE 2) ENG AND WING ANTI-ICE CONTROL 3) ENG IDLE CONTROL

Open the right fan cowl panel on the applicable engine (Ref 71-11-02/201).

Remove the TAI valve:
(a)
Disconnect the electrical connector from the valve.
(b)
Remove the clamps which attach the valve to the duct.
(c)
Remove the valve.
(d)
Remove the seals from the male flanges of the valve and the duct. Discard the seals.
(4)
Install caps on the ducts to prevent contamination.

D. Procedure

(1) Remove the caps from the ducts.
S 214-009
CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE SEALS. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SEALS IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL WITH THEM.
(2) Examine the seals and the flange surfaces which will touch the seals.
(a)
Make sure that there are no scratches, cuts, pits, or creases.
(b)
Make sure that there is no unwanted material.

(3) Install the TAI valve:
(a)
Install the seals in the male flanges of the valve and the duct.
(b)
Lubricate the external flanges of the valve and the inner surfaces of the clamps.
(c)
Hold the valve in its position on the engine. 1) Align the valve flanges with the duct flanges to get a
maximum gap of 0.03 inches between flanges.
2) Install shims and washers if they are necessary.
(d)
Install the two clamps which attach the valve to the ducts.
(e)
Tighten the clamp bolts to 70-80 pound-inches.
(f)
Connect the electrical connector to the valve.

(4) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers for the applicable engine:
(a) P18 Panel
1) ENG COWL ANTI-ICE
2) ENG AND WING ANTI-ICE CONTROL
3) ENG IDLE CONTROL
