D. Inlet Cowl Anti-Ice Operational Test with Engine Power

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Start the applicable engine and let it become stable
(AMM 71-00-00/201).

Prepare for the test:
(a)
Make sure that the BLEED 1, 2, and APU switches on the P5 panel are off.
(b)
Make sure that the applicable COWL VALVE OPEN light on the P5 panel is off.
(c)
Make a record of the engine EGT (after the EGT has become stable).

(4) Do this test of the TAI valve operation:
CAUTION: DO NOT PERMIT THE COWL TAI VALVE TO BE OPEN FOR MORE THAN
_______ 30 SECONDS. IF THE VALVE IS OPEN FOR MORE THAN 30 SECONDS, THERE CAN BE DAMAGE TO THE INLET COWL.
(a) Set the applicable ENG ANTI-ICE switch to ON.
1) Make sure that the COWL VALVE OPEN light comes on bright (this shows that the valve is in transit).
NOTE: If the cowl TAI valve does not open normally,
____ slightly increase the engine power setting to assist the pneumatic operation of the valve.
2) Make sure that the COWL VALVE OPEN light becomes dim and stays on (this shows that the valve is open).
(b)
Make a record of the engine EGT after it becomes stable.
(c)
Make sure that the engine EGT is at least 15° C larger than the EGT you found before you set the ENG ANTI-ICE switch to ON.
(d)
Set the ENG ANTI-ICE switch to OFF. 1) Make sure that the COWL VALVE OPEN light comes on bright. 2) Make sure that the COWL VALVE OPEN light goes off.

(5) Do the normal engine shutdown procedure (AMM 71-00-00/201).

3. Inlet Cowl Anti-Ice Operational Test with APU Power

A. General
(1) If you do the Inlet Cowl Anti-Ice Operational Test with APU Power, do not do the procedure: Inlet Cowl Anti-Ice Operational Test With Engine Power or Ground Air Source.
B. Inlet Cowl Anti-Ice Operational Test with APU Power

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Open the left thrust reverser half on the applicable engine (AMM 78-31-00/201).

Start the APU (AMM 49-11-00/201) and let it become stable.

Prepare for the test:
(a)
Make sure that the BLEED 1, 2, and APU switches on the P5 panel are OFF.
(b)
Make sure that the applicable COWL VALVE OPEN light on the P5 panel is off.
(c)
Record the APU EGT after the EGT has become stable.
(d)
Set the applicable engine BLEED switch to ON.
(e)
BEJ B-2535 AND ON; Disconnect the electrical connector from the bleed air regulator on the applicable engine.

WARNING:_______MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO THESE STEPS IN THE ORDER GIVEN. IF YOU PRESSURIZE THE PNEUMATIC SYSTEM AFTER YOU MANUALLY OPEN THE
_____ PRSOV, THE PRSOV CAN MOVE THE WRENCH HANDLE SUDDENLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO YOU.
(5) Pressurize the pneumatic system:
(a)
Set the BLEED APU switch to ON.
