(1)
Open the right hand, fan cowl on the applicable engine if it is not already open (AMM 71-11-02/201).
(2)
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

(a) P6 panel 1) PITOT STATIC INDICATION - CAPTAIN 2) PITOT STATIC INDICATION - F/O

(4) Do a test of the overheat circuit for the inlet cowl:
(a) Make sure the applicable left or right (engine 1 or engine 2) COWL ANTI-ICE light on the P5-11 module is off.

(b)
Open the applicable circuit breaker on the P6 panel and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) For the left engine:
a) MASTER DIM SEC 1
2) For the right engine:
a) MASTER DIM SEC 4
(c)
Disconnect the overheat switch connector D3360.
(d)
Temporarily connect a wire between pins A and D of electrical connector D3360.
(e)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close the applicable circuit breaker on the P6 panel: 1) MASTER DIM SEC 1 2) MASTER DIM SEC 4
(f)
Make sure the applicable left or right COWL ANTI-ICE light on the P5-11 module comes on.
(g)
Open the applicable circuit breaker on the P6 panel and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) For the left engine:
a) MASTER DIM SEC 1
2) For the right engine:
a) MASTER DIM SEC 4
(h)
Remove the wire between pins A and D of electrical connector D3360.
(i)
Connect electrical connector D3360 to the overheat switch.
(j)
Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close the circuit breaker on the P6 panel: 1) MASTER DIM SEC 1 2) MASTER DIM SEC 4
(k)
Make sure the applicable left or right COWL ANTI-ICE light on the P5-11 panel is off.

Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers:
(a) On the P6 panel
1) PITOT STATIC INDICATION - CAPTAIN
2) PITOT STATIC INDICATION - F/O

Remove electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).
(7)
Close the fan cowl on the applicable engine (AMM 71-11-02/201).

1. General_______
A. The left and right pitot-static tubes, the elevator feel left and right pitot tubes, the temperature probe, and the left and right alpha vanes are heated to prevent the formation of ice which could affect sensing accuracy (Fig. 1). The heating is accomplished by electrical heaters installed as an integral part of the units. The heaters consist of resistance elements which operate on 115-volt ac (Fig. 1 and 2).
