 (c)  Turn the shutoff valve handle to the vertical (open) position.
 NOTE: If a new Rain Repellent container is installed and the
____ fluid level remains at the low level. Then removal and reinstallation of the Rain Repellent container is required to relieve the gas pressure. This allows the fluid level to show a new level.

 3. Release the Pressure in the Rain Repellent System

Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (2)  
Release the pressure in the rain repellent plumbing:

 (a)  
Turn the shutoff valve handle to the horizontal (closed) position.

 (b)  
Apply water to the windshield.

 (c)  
Push and release the RAIN REPELLENT L and R switches (P5 overhead panel) a sufficient number of times to release all pressure in the system.

 

 CAUTION: REMOVE ALL RAIN REPELLENT FLUID WHICH TOUCHES THE
_______ WINDSHIELD OR THE AIRPLANE SKIN. RAIN REPELLENT FLUID WHICH DRIES ON A SURFACE IS DIFFICULT TO REMOVE.
 (d)  
Use water to flush away all rain repellent fluid which is on the windshield or the airplane skin.

 (e)  
Turn the shutoff valve handle to the vertical (open) position.

 C. Procedure
 S 162-009-001
 (1)  Remove the dried rain repellent fluid:
 (a)  Use a weak detergent and water with a foam-filled nylon scrubber and a moist cloth to remove the fluid.
 NOTE: Use an Ardrox 275-G cleaning pad (AMM 20-30-51/201)
____ as an alternative to the scrubber and cloth.
 (b)  
Use rain repellent fluid as a solvent if there is a heavy concentration of the dried rain repellent fluid.

 (c)  
Remove all dried rain repellent fluid from the airplane skin near the windshield.

 5. Flush the Rain Repellent System

 A. General
 (1)  
This task can be used to clean the tubing in the rain repellent system and it can be used to prepare the airplane for prolonged parking or storage.

 (2)  
If this task is being used to prepare the airplane for prolonged parking or storage, do not do the operational test of the rain repellent system at the end of the task.

 (a)  The test will let rain repellent fluid remain in the tubing while the airplane is parked or stored.

Dry air source - to give 45 psig and 100 psig

 (3)  
Plastic Bags - clear, fluid-tight

 (4)  
Test Equipment, Windshield Rain Repellent System - B30001
