RAIN REPELLENT SYSTEM - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General
_______
A. This task is an operational test of the rain repellent system. In this procedure, you will operate the system and make sure that there are no leaks.
B. During the test, you will apply water to the windshield area. Do not permit rain repellent fluid to stay on the windshield or the airplane skin.

Supply electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Do this task: "Rain Repellent Container Replacement" (Ref 30-43-00/201).
WARNING: DO NOT LET RAIN REPELLENT FLUID TOUCH YOUR SKIN OR EYES.
_______ THE FLUID CAN CAUSE IRRITATION. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES. IF THE FLUID TOUCHES YOU, WASH YOUR SKIN OR EYES WITH WATER.
(a) Make sure that there is no leakage where the container connects to the system plumbing.
NOTE: If there is leakage, remove the container and examine
____ the container valve and the container receptacle for damage.

(3) S 015-005Lower the left and right pilots' instrument panels.
(4) S 715-006Operate the rain repellent system: (a) Apply water to the left windshield area. (b) Push the RAIN REPELLENT L switch until fluid flows from the nozzle. (c) Apply water to the right windshield area. (d) Push the RAIN REPELLENT R switch until fluid flows from the nozzle.
(5) S 795-007Make sure that there is no leakage at the connections between the rain repellent container and the nozzles.
NOTE:____ The fluid in rain repellent container P/N 65-38196-5 has a citrus scent.
(6) S 415-008Lift the left and right pilots' instrument panels to their usual positions.
(7) S 215-009Make sure the fluid level in the rain repellent reservoir is above the REPLACE CAN mark. (a) If the fluid level is too low, do this task: "Rain Repellent Container Replacement" (Ref 30-43-00/201).
(8) S 865-011Remove electrical power (Ref 24-22-00/201).
(9) S 165-010Clean all rain repellent fluid which stays on the windshield or the airplane structure.
