 2. System Test - Control Cabin Window Anti-Icing System
____________________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  It is necessary that the ambient temperature be below 70° F when you do this test. If the ambient temperature is above 70° F, use water to make the windows sufficiently cool.
 B. Standard Tools and Equipment
 (1)  Voltmeter - 0-500 volts AC-DC, |1 percent full scale minimum accuracy
 C. Special Tools and Equipment
 (1)  For window temperature measurements:
 Infrared Measurement Instrument - 3M IR-16L3 (Recommended) Electrical Division 6801 River Place Blvd Austin, Texas 78769-2963 Phone (512) 984-5657 Fax (512)984-5771 Infrared Measurement Instrument - WAUL XXXXXX (Optional) Or Pyrometer, Portable - Alnor Type 4000A with Thermocouple 4040 and Thermocouple arm 4010 Or Model 687 Digicon Indicator System (Alternative).

 F. Prepare for the Test

 (1)  
Make sure that the No. 2 windows are closed and the handles are latched.

 (2)  
Supply electrical power (AMM 24-22-00/201).

 (3)  
Open these circuit breakers and attach DO-NOT-CLOSE tags:

 (4)  Set the four WINDOW HEAT switches on the window and pitot heat control module (P5-9) to OFF.
 (a)  Make sure that all the window heat ON lights (on the window and pitot heat control module) are off.

 (5)  Set the LIGHTS test switch on the P2 panel to TEST.
 (a)  
Make sure that the four window ON lights come on.

 (b)  
Make sure that the four window OVERHEAT lights come on.

 (c)  
Make sure that the ANTI-ICE light (P7 pilots' lightshield) comes on.

 (d)  
Release the LIGHTS test switch.


 G. No. 1 Left Window Heat Test
 S 485-007
 (1)  
At the No.1 Left window connect an AC voltmeter between the top aft terminal of window and airplane ground. See Fig.501

 (2)  
Do a check of the window heat operation:

 (a)  
Set the WINDOW HEAT L FWD switch to ON.

 (b)  
Make sure that the WINDOW HEAT L FWD ON light comes on in less than 15 seconds after you set the switch to ON.

 (c)  
Make sure that the voltmeter shows voltage at the window.

 (3)  Do a check of the window overheat mode:
 (a)  
Hold the WINDOW HEAT TEST switch (P5-9 module) to OVHT.

 (b)  
Make sure that the WINDOW HEAT L FWD OVERHEAT light comes on.

 (c)  
Make sure that the two MASTER CAUTION lights (P7 pilots' lightshield) come on.

 (d)  
Make sure that the ANTI-ICE light comes on.

 (e)  
Make sure that the WINDOW HEAT L FWD ON light goes off in less than 70 seconds after you moved the switch to OVHT.

 (f)  
Make sure that the voltmeter shows no voltage at the window.

 (g)  
Release the WINDOW HEAT TEST switch.

 (4)  Do a check of the master caution annunciation:
 (a)  
Push one of the two MASTER CAUTION lights.
