(1)
Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.
(2)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3) Put the safety barriers in position.

B. Get Access
(1)
Put the access platform in position below the zone 521(621).
(2)
Remove the applicable access panels:
-
for the left wing, remove 471AL and 472AR
-
for the right wing, remove 481AL and 482AR.

A. Preparation for Inspection
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1) Use a clean MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004), to clean the bottom skin lower-surface at the front spar:
-
in the area closed by the pylon fairing
-
in the area of the pylon reinforcing plate.

B. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Outer-Wing Bottom Skin Lower-Surface at the Front Spar, Masked by the Pylon Fairing and the Visible Portion of the Pylon Reinforcing Plate
(1) Examine the bottom skin lower-surface at the front spar (in the area closed by the pylon fairing), and in the area of the pylon reinforcing plate. Make sure that:
-
there is no corrosion or damage
-
there are no scratches or scores
-
there are no loose or damaged fasteners
-the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 572100) for the

correct repair procedure.
