A. Safety Precautions
WARNING : OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.

(1)
Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. TASK 28-00-00-910-001) and (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2)
Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4)
Put the safety barriers in position.

B. Get Access
WARNING : OBEY THE SAFETY PROCEDURES WHEN YOU DO WORK IN A FUEL TANK.

Put the access platform in position below zones 521(621) and 540(640).
(2)
Remove the applicable access panels:

for the left wing, remove 521BT, 540BB and 540CB
-
for the right wing, remove 621BT, 640BB anb 640CB (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-001).

A. Preparation for Inspection
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL
_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1) Use a clean MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004), to clean:
-the pylon reinforcing plate of the top-skin lower surface.

B. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Outer Wing Top-Skin Lower Surface Pylon Reinforcing-Plate
(1) Examine the pylon reinforcing-plate of the top-skin lower surface. Make sure that:

there is no corrosion or damage

there are no scratches or scores
-
there are no loose or damaged fasteners
-the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 572100) for the

correct repair procedure.
