A. Safety Precautions
(1)
Put the safety barriers in position.
(2)
Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4)
Put the access platform below the applicable wing rear spar, zone 574(674).

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a clean MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026), to clean:
-the rear spar aft-face between RIB1 and RIB5.

B. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing, Rear Spar Aft Face, Between RIB1 and Gear Support RIB5, including Rear Spar Angle
(1)
Examine the rear spar aft face between RIBS 1 and 5, together with the rear spar angle, and make sure that:
-
there is no corrosion or damage
-
there are no scratches or scores
-
there are no cracks
-
there are no loose or damaged fasteners
-the surface protection is in the correct condition.
(2)
If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 572100) for the correct repair procedure.
5. Close-up

A. Removal of Equipment
(1)
Remove the safety barriers
(2)
Remove the access platform(s).
(3)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(4)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
