 A. Safety Precautions
 WARNING : OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.

 (1)
 Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. TASK 28-00-00-910-001) and (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001).

 (2)
 Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.

 (3)
 Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

 (4)
 Put the safety barriers in position.

 B. Get Access
 (1)
 Put the access platform in position below zone 540(640).

 (2)
 Remove the applicable access panels:

 -
for the left wing, remove 540AB, 540BB, 540CB

 -
for the right wing, remove 640AB, 640BB, 640CB, (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002).

 

 (3)
 Open the RIB 2 surge doors:

 -
for the left wing, open 540BZ

 -
for the right wing, open 640BZ.

 

 (4)
 Install the HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) (98D57004013000) on the forward surge doors.

 (5)
 Install the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) (98D57004014000) on the aft surge doors.

 A. Preparation for Inspection
 (1) Use a clean MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026), to clean:
 -the rear-spar forward-face between RIB1 and RIB8.
 Subtask 57-20-00-210-056
 B. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Outer Wing Rear-Spar Face between RIB1 and RIB8, including the Region of the Joint at RIB6
 (1) Examine the rear-spar forward face RIB1 thru RIB8 and the joint at RIB6. Make sure that:
 -
there is no corrosion or damage

 -
there are no scratches or scores

 -
there are no loose or damaged fasteners


 -the surface protection is in the correct condition.
