A. Safety Precautions
WARNING : OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.

(1)
Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. TASK 28-00-00-910-001) and (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2)
Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Install warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

B. Get Access
(1)
Put an access platform in position below the access panels 540AB and 640AB.
(2)
Remove the access panels (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-001), (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002):
-
For the left wing: 540AB
-
For the right wing: 640AB.
(3)
Open the RIB2 surge doors:
-for the left wing: 540AZ, 540BZ
-For the right wing: 640AZ, 640BZ.
(4)
Install the HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) (98D57004013000) on the forward surge doors.
(5)
Install the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) (98D57004014000) on the aft surge doors.
(6) Use a flashlight for the inspection.

(1)
Remove sealant from the fasteners in the inspection area.
(2)
Clean the inspection area with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) and a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), if necessary.
(3)
Make sure that the surface of the inspection area is clean and smooth.
(4)
Do a visual check of the inspection area for damage or discontinuities.
(5)
Make sure that there is no:
(a)
Corrosion damage:
-If you find corrosion damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 512200,P.Block 001) for types of corrosion, inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
(b)
Other damage (cracks, scratches, stress, marks, dents, bumps, ...):
-If you find other damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref. SRM 511100,P.Block 001) for damage classification and corrective action.
