A. Safety Precautions
(1)
Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.
(2)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(3)
Put the safety barriers in position.
(4)
Put the access platform in position below the wing fuel tank, zones 540 (640) and 550 (650).

(1) Use a clean MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026), to clean the lower surface of the bottom skin at:
-
the drain holes for track cans 5 thru 12 (rib bays 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 16-17, 18-19, 21-22, 23-24 and 25-26).
-
the dry bay drain holes in rib bay 26-27.
-
the MLI positions adjacent to RIB9 and RIB12.

B. Inspection
(1) Examine the bottom skin at the drain holes for track cans 5 thru 12 (rib bays 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, 16-17, 18-19, 21-22, 23-24, and 25-26), and the dry bay drain holes (rib bay 26-27) and the MLI positions adjacent to RIB9 and RIB12. Make sure that:

there is no corrosion or damage
-
there are no scratches or scores
-
there are no loose or damaged fasteners
-the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 572100) for the

correct repair procedure.
5. Close-up

A. Removal of Equipment
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Remove the warning notice(s).
(3)
Remove the safety barriers.

Remove the access platform(s).
(5)
Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.
