You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2)
Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.
(3)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.
(4)
Put the safety barriers in position.

(1) Defuel the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2) Drain the remaining fuel from the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

(1) Put the adjustable access platform in position below the access panels 540CB (640CB), 540DB (640DB) and 540EB (640EB).

R (1) Use a clean MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026) to clean the forward face of the rear spar and the top and bottom flanges (RIB8 thru RIB11).

B. Inspection
(1) Examine the forward face of the rear spar and the top and bottom flanges (RIB8 thru RIB11). Make sure that: - there is no corrosion or damage - there are no scratches or scores - there are no loose or damaged fasteners - the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 572100) for the____ correct repair procedure.
