Obey the fuel safety precautions (Ref. TASK 28-00-00-910-001) and (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001).
(2)
Put the safety barriers in position.
(3)
Install the TOOL-ZERO LOCKING, FLAP SLAT CTL LEVER (98D27803500001) on the flap/slat control lever.
(4)
Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

(1) Put the access platform below the access panels 540AB (640AB) and 540BB (640BB).

Remove the applicable access panels:
-
for the left wing, remove 540AB, 540BB, 540CZ, 540DZ
-
for the right wing, remove 640AB, 640BB, 640CZ, 640DZ, (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-007).
(3)
Open the RIB2 surge doors:
-
for the left wing, open 540AZ, 540BZ
-
for the right wing, open 640AZ, 640BZ.
(4)
Install the HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) (98D57004013000) on the forward surge doors.
(5)
Install the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) (98D57004014000) on the aft surge doors.
4. Procedure

Subtask 57-20-00-110-090
A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a clean MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026), to clean:
-
the top skin stringers between RIB1 and RIB8.
Make sure that you clean:
-
the runouts
-
the area around each air transfer hole
-
the buttstrap at stringer 11.

B. Detailed Inspection of Outer Wing, Top-Skin Stringers, Between RIB 1 and RIB 8, including Runouts and Air Transfer Holes, and Butt Strap, at Stringer 11
(1) Examine the top skin stringers between RIB1 and RIB8, together with the runouts and air transfer holes. Also examine the butt strap at stringer 11. Make sure that:
-
there is no corrosion or damage
-
there are no scratches or scores
-
there are no loose or damaged fasteners
-the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 572100) for the

correct repair procedure.

A. Close Access
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Remove the HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) from the forward surge doors.
(3)
Remove the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) from the aft surge doors.
(4)
Close the RIB2 surge doors:
-
for the left wing, close 540AZ, 540BZ
-
for the right wing, close 640AZ, 640BZ.
(5)
Install the applicable access panels:
-
for the left wing, install 540AB, 540BB, 540CZ, 540DZ
-
for the right wing, install 640AB, 640BB, 640CZ, 640DZ, (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-400-001) and (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-400-007).
