Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

Put the safety barriers in position.

Put the access platform in position below zone 521(621).
(2)
Remove the applicable access panels:
-
for the left wing, remove 540AB, 540BB, 540CB, 540CZ
-
for the right wing, remove 640AB, 640BB, 640CB, 640CZ, (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-001), (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-007) and (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002).
(3)
Open the applicable RIB 2 surge door:
-
for the left wing, open 540AZ
-
for the right wing, open 640AZ.
(4)
Install the HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) (98D57004013000) on the forward surge door.

A. Preparation for Inspection
(1) Use a clean MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026), to clean:
-the front-spar aft face between RIB1 and RIB8.

B. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Outer Wing Front-Spar Aft Face between RIB1 and RIB8
(1) Examine the front-spar aft face RIB1 thru RIB8.
Make sure that:

there is no corrosion or damage
-
there are no scratches or scores
-
there are no loose or damaged fasteners
-the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE : Use a spark-proof lamp and a mirror to supply lighting to the

applicable inspection area.

Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Remove the HOOK-COVER (RIB 2 SURGE DOORS) from the forward surge doors.

Close the RIB 2 surge doors:

for the left wing, close 540AZ
-
for the right wing, close 640AZ.
(4)
Install the applicable access panels:
-
for the left wing, install 540AB, 540BB, 540CB, 540CZ
-
for the right wing, install 640AB, 640BB, 640CB, 640CZ, (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-400-001) and (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-400-007).
