Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flaps or slats.

Put the safety barriers in position.

Put the adjustable access platform in position below the zone 540(640).

Remove the applicable access panels:

for the left wing, remove 540AB and 540BB

(1) Use a clean MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004), to clean RIB5 and RIB6 around:
-
the skin attachments and the cleats
-
the spar attachment
-
the access cutouts
-
the stringer cutouts.

B. Detailed Visual Inspection of the Outer Wing RIB5 and RIB6 at the Skin Attachments (including cleats), Spar-Attachment Access-Cutout Surrounds and in the Region of the Stringer Cutouts
(1) Examine RIB5 and RIB6. Make a check of the rib condition in these areas:
-
the skin attachments, and the cleats
-
the spar attachments
-
the access cutouts
-
the stringer cutouts
Make sure that:
-
there is no corrosion or damage
-
there are no scratches or scores
-
there are no loose or damaged fasteners
-the surface protection is in the correct condition.
NOTE : If necessary, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 572100) for the
____
correct repair procedure.
