R (2) Put an ACCESS PLATFORM 3M (10 FT)- ADJUSTABLE in position at the
R zones 147 and 148.
R (3) Remove the access covers 147AZ and 148AZ (Ref. TASK 57-17-11-000-
R 001).
R (4) Use a FLASHLIGHT, if necessary.

R USE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND A MASK.
R (1) Remove the sealant from the inspection area with a nonmetallic
R scraper.
R (2) Clean the inspection area with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004)
R and a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003), if
R necessary.
R (3) Make sure that the surface of the inspection area is clean and
R smooth.
R (4) Do a check of the inspection area for damage or discontinuities.
R (5) Make sure that there is no:
R (a) Corrosion damage:
R - If you find corrosion damage, refer to the Structural Repair
R Manual (Ref. SRM 512200,P.Block 001) for types of corrosion,
R inspection, removal and corrosion protection.
R (b) Other damage (cracks, scratches, stress, marks dents, bumps...):
R - If you find this type of damage, refer to the Structural Repair
R Manual (Ref. SRM 511100,P.Block 001) for damage classification
R and corrective action.

R A. Inspection

R (1) Do a special detailed inspection of the edge of the rear spar of the
R center wing box. This inspection is applicable to the edge of the
R lower flange at the corner fitting, left and right sides (Ref. NTM
R 571192,P.Block-601).
R (2) Make a report of the damage after the NDT inspection:
R (a) Corrosion damage:
R - If you find damage, refer to the Structural Repair Manual (Ref.
R SRM 512200,P.Block 001) for types of corrosion, inspection,
R removal and corrosion protection.
