Get access to the hinge arm fitting No. 7.
(a)
Put the warning notice in position to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(b)
Depressurize the Green, Yellow and Blue hydraulic systems (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(c)
Put the adjustable access platform in position.
(d)
Remove the access panels 325EL, 325ER (Ref. TASK 55-33-13-000-001).
(2)
Remove the access panel 326CT at the rudder attach fitting No. 7 (Ref. TASK 55-42-13-000-001).
(a) Remove the vertical stabilizer tip 324AT (Ref. TASK 55-34-11-000-001).
NOTE : If you must remove more than one of the seven hinge arm

A. Remove the hinge arm fitting installed at the rudder bearing No. 1 thru 5 (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 55-36-41-991-001)
(1)
Use the TOOL - EXTRACTION, TAB WASHERS STA-LOK NSA5454 (SL90-314-5625) and remove the tab washer (6) from the slotted nut (5).
(2)
Remove the slotted nut (5) with the WRENCHES - NOTCHED, TIGHTENING OF
NUTS NSA5454 (SL90-322-5625).
(3)
Remove the hinge bolt (1) the washer (2) and the retaining plate (3).
(4)
Remove the upper and lower bushes (4).
(5)
Remove the screw (8) and the bonding strap (7) from the plate (9).
(6)
Remove the Hi-Lock rivets (Ref. ASRM 51-42-11-001) from the hinge arm

Remove the rudder support strut (12) (Ref. TASK 55-36-48-000-001).
(2)
Use the TOOL - EXTRACTION, TAB WASHERS STA-LOK NSA5454 (SL90-314-7500) and remove the tab washer (3) from the slotted nut (2).

Remove the slotted nut (2) with the WRENCHES - NOTCHED, TIGHTENING OF NUTS NSA5454 (SL90-374-7500).
(4)
Remove the hinge pin (11) and the retaining plate (9) with the washer (10).
(5)
Remove the bushes (8) and (1).
(6)
Remove the screw (5) and the bonding strap (4).
(7)
Remove the Hi-Lock rivets (Ref. ASRM 51-42-11-001) and the plate (7).
