A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the horizontal stabilizer is safe (Ref. MM 55000049000100)
(2)
Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-001), (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-002), (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(3)
Make sure that the PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING is in the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
(4)
Make sure that the warning notices are in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
(5)
Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
(6)
Make sure that the access platforms are in position at zone 332 and/or zone 342.

A. Prepare the Tips for Installation
(1)
Use a non metallic scraper to remove the old sealant from the mating surfaces of the tip, the rib and the upper and the lower shell.
(2)
Use CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-008) and clean lint free cloth to clean the component and the interface
(3)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.

B. Installation of the THS Tips 332AB (342AB) NOTE : The installation of the left tip 332AB is shown. The installation

of the right tip 342AB is the same.
(1)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-005) to the mating surfaces of the tip, the rib and the upper and lower shell.
(2)
Apply SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-013) to the mating surfaces of the tip.
(3)
Put the tip (2) in position on the THS.
(4)
Install the screws (1) and tighten. Subtask 55-14-11-914-051
C. Sealing
(1)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) to the gap around the tip. Subtask 55-14-11-420-051
