Open the access door 314AR.

Remove the trailing edge panels 334AT, 344AT, 334AB, 344AB (Ref. TASK 55-13-11-000-001).

Remove the inboard end caps of the elevator (Ref. TASK 55-24-11-000-001).
(4)
Remove the tailcone (Ref. TASK 53-58-11-000-006).

A. Removal of the Fittings and Support Bearings
(Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 55-16-38-991-001)
(1) Remove the fittings (1) at the pivot points of the horizontal stabilizer (Ref. TASK 53-56-11-000-001).

(2) Remove the horizontal stabilizer support bearings.
(a)
Remove the sealing rings (2).
(b)
Release the tab washers (4) and (7).
R (c) Use WRENCH-THS GROOVE NUT (98D55109009000). Remove the ring nut (3).
(d)
Remove the tabwasher (4).
(e)
Remove the bearing (6) from the bearing housing (5).
R (f) Use WRENCH-THS GROOVE NUT (98D55109009000). Remove the ring nut (8).
(g)
Remove the tabwasher (7).
(h)
Use EXTRACTOR - CENTERING BUSH, THS (98D27407505000). Remove the bearing housing (5).
