General
_______ The tail assembly has a vertical stabilizer, a rudder assembly, a trimmable horizontal stabilizer and two elevator assemblies.

Description
___________ The primary structural components of the stabilizers (spars, ribs and skin panels) are made of laminations of Carbon Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP). All other components are made of the same material, or Glassfiber Reinforced Plastic (GFRP) or of light alloy. Three independant hydraulic systems control the rudder and the elevators. You can trim the horizontal stabilizer and the rudder. You can remove the stabilizers completely.

HORIZONTAL STABILIZER - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

1. General.

A. Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer (THS).
-The Trimmable Horizontal Stabilizer (THS) is installed to the fuselage tail section. It has the supporting structure for the left-hand (LH) and right-hand (RH) elevator.

A. THS Description.
-The THS is installed in a large cut-out at the fuselage tail section. It is connected to the fuselage at three points. The connecting points are at the THS actuator and at the two hinge points on either side of the fuselage.
B. Primary Structural Components.
-The primary structural components of the THS are the LH and RH spar boxes and the center joint. All other components are attached to the LH and RH spar boxes.
C. Components.
-The other components are the leading edge, the trailing edge, the tips, the aprons and the attach fittings. Except for the attach fittings, you can remove all components for repair and/or maintenance.
