Subtask 55-40-00-210-050
A. Special Detailed Inspection
R R NOTE : Do the inspection procedures which follow in the sequence given____ below.
R R R R R R (1) Do a special detailed inspection of the honeycomb structure of the rudder side panels LH/RH. Use the resonance frequency procedure (Ref. NTM 554003-Part.5) and the ultrasonic procedure (Ref. NTM 554003-Part.4) to inspect for delamination and debonding of the panels. Do this in the areas that follow: - The rudder bearings - The trailing edge fasteners - The hoisting points.
R R NOTE : The resonance frequency procedure (Ref. NTM 554003-Part.5) and____ the ultrasonic procedure (Ref. NTM 554003-Part.4) are the recommended inspection procedures for this structure.
R R R R R NOTE : If you apply high pressure with your hand to the rudder____ composite side-panels: - It is possible to hear a noise with the sound of a "click" from the honeycomb core. This noise has no effect on the condition of the rudder. The rudder is servicable, if no delamination or debonding is found during the inspection procedure.
(2) If you find damage, refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 55-41-00-101) for the necessary data.
5. Close-up________
