A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the horizontal stabilizer pitch trim control is set to zero.
(2)
Make sure that the hydraulic systems are depressurized. (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-001) (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-002) (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(3)
Make sure that the PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING (98D27903500000) is in the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
(4)
Make sure that the warning notices are in the flight compartment to tell the persons not to operate the flight controls.
(5)
Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell the persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
(6)
Make sure that access platform/3.0 m/(9ft. 10in.) are in position at zones 311/312.
(7) Make sure that the access door 312AR is open.

Subtask 55-16-34-420-050
A. Install the Attach Fittings Bearigns of the THS actuator.
(1)
Put the bush (3) in position.
(2)
Put a new washer retainer (2) in position.
R (3) Install the nut retainer (1) with the WRENCH-THS GROOVE NUT R (98D27409007000) and toque to between 2.8247 and 3.9546 m.daN (20.83 and 29.16 lbf.ft).
(4)
Apply COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-004) to the bearing (4) and install.
(5)
Put a new washer retainer (5) in position.
R (6) Install the nut retainer (6) with WRENCH-THS GROOVE NUT R (98D27409006000) and torque to between 2.8247 and 3.9546 m.daN (20.83 and 29.16 lbf.ft).
(7) Safety the nut retainer (6) with the washer retainer (5) and the nut retainer (1) with the washer retainer (2).
NOTE : In the RH of the attach fitting, the bearing (4) must have
____ free movement and the washer retainer (5) must not have any clearance.
NOTE : In the LH of the attach fitting, the bearing (4) must not have
____ any movement and the washer retainer (5) must have clearance.
