 A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
 (1) Make sure that the hydraulic system is depressurized (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-001), (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-002), (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
R (2) Make sure that the PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING (98D27903500000) is in the CAPT and F/O side stick controllers.
R (3) Make sure that the TOOL-ELEVATOR NEUTRAL SETTING (98D27309001000) is R installed on the elevator.

 (4)
 Make sure that the warning notices are in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.

 (5)
 Make sure that the warning notices are in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.

 (6)
 Make sure that the access platforms are in position at zone 335 and/or zone 345.

 Subtask 55-24-11-420-050
 A. Installation
 (1) Install the Elevator Tips.
 (a)
 Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-005) and SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-013) along the mating surfaces.

 (b)
 Put the elevator tips (2) in position.

 (c)
 Install the screws (1).

 (d)
 If removed, install the horizontal stabilizer tips 332AB and 342AB (Ref. TASK 55-14-11-400-001).

 (e)
 Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-001) to the gaps between the tips and the elevator skin panels.

 (f) Install the static dischargers (4) (Ref. TASK 23-61-41-400-001).
 (2) Install the Elevator End Caps.
 (a)
 Use CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) and clean lint free cloth to clean the elevator and end cap interface.

 (b)
 Make sure that the surfaces are clean and all the old sealant is removed.

 (c)
 Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-005) and separator agent SPECIAL MATERIALS (Material No. 05-013) along the mating surfaces.

 (d)
 Put the elevator end caps (3) in position.

 (e)
 Install the screws (1).

 (f)
 Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-001) to the gaps between the elevator end caps and the elevator skin skin panels.

 (g)
 Install the applicable elevator (Ref. TASK 27-34-41-400-001).

 5. Close-up

 A. Remove Ground Equipment
 (1)
 Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

 (2)
 Remove the warning notice(s).

 (3) Remove the access platform(s).

R (1) Remove the PIN-SIDE STICK LOCKING from the CAPT and F/O side stick
R controllers.
R (2) Remove the SETTING TOOL-NEUTRAL, ELEVATOR from the elevators.
