(a) Remove the nuts (43), the washers (42) and the upper parts of the clamp blocks (41).
R (b) Put the CONTAINER 3 L(3/4 USGAL) in position to collect the unwanted fluid.
(c)
Disconnect and remove the hydraulic pipes (44) and (45).
(d)
Disconnect the flexible hoses (35), (36), (37) and (38).
(e)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.
(f)
Remove the unwanted hydraulic fluid (Ref. TASK 51-78-00-615-002).

Remove the transverse load forks.
(Ref. Fig. 405/TASK 55-31-11-991-006)
(a)
Identify the position of the transverse load forks (54) for installation.
(b)
Remove and discard the cotter pins (59) and (72).
(c)
Remove the nuts (62), the washers (63), the bolts (60) and the bushes (57), (58) and (65).
(d)
Remove the transverse load forks (54).

Remove the pushrod.

Remove and discard the cotter pins (85).
(b)
Remove the nuts (84) and (87), the washers (83) and (86) and the bolts (82).
(c)
Remove the pushrod (81).

(10) Remove the attach bolts.
(Ref. Fig. 405/TASK 55-31-11-991-006)
(a)
Operate the crane and slowly tighten the sling cables. Adjust the turnbuckles as necessary to get an equal tension.
(b)
Increase the cable tension to release the load from the bolts (53).
NOTE : You must only remove one attach bolt at a time.

(c)
Use the TOOL - EXTRACTION, TAB WASHERS STA-LOK NSA5454 (SL90-314-5625) and remove the tab washers (50) from the slotted nuts (51).
(d)
Use the WRENCHES - NOTCHED, TIGHTENING OF NUTS NSA5454 (SL90-322-5625) and remove the slotted nuts (51) and the washers (66).
NOTE : Identify each bolt (53) and split sleeve (52) to make sure
____ you install them together in the same position.
R (e) Remove the bolts (53) with an EXTRACTOR - BOLTS, VERTICAL R STABILIZER.
(f)
Remove the split sleeves (52).
(g)
Install a CENTERING BOLTS - VERT. STABILIZER (98D55307503001).
(h)
When all attach bolts (53) and split sleeves (52) are removed, remove the centering bolts.
(11)
Remove the vertical stabilizer from the aircraft and lower it on a support.
(12)
When the vertical stabilizer is attached to the support remove the sling.
