A. Removal of the Vertical Stabilizer Leading-Edge NOTE : The removal of the leading-edge panel (3) is described, the
____ removal of the leadig-edge panel (7) and (8) is the same.
(1)
Remove the self-adhesive discs from the hoisting points.
(2)
Remove the plastic plugs from the hoisting point.
(3)
Install the hoist fittings with the eye end out of the leading-edge panel.
(4)
Attach the sling SLING - DORSAL FIN, LEADING EDGES, END CAP (98D55307531001) to the hoist fittings and to the crane.

Operate the crane and slowly tighten the sling cables. Adjust the turnbuckles as necessary to get equal tension. Increase the cable tension to release the load from the screws (4).
(6)
Remove the screws (4) and the washers (6).
(7)
Remove the leading-edge panel (3) and lower it on an approved support.

(1)
Remove the self-adhesive discs from the hoisting points.
(2)
Remove the plastic plugs from the hoisting point.
(3)
Install the hoist fittings with the eye end out of the leading-edge panel.
(4)
Attach the sling SLING - DORSAL FIN, LEADING EDGES, END CAP (98D55307531001) to the hoist fittings and to the crane.
(5)
Operate the crane and slowly tighten the sling cables. Adjust the turnbuckles as necessary to get equal tension. Increase the cable tension to release the load from the screws (4).

Remove the screws (4).
(7)
Remove the leading-edge panel and lower it on an approved support.
(8)
Remove the sling.
