Subtask 55-34-11-020-054
A. Removal of the Vertical Stabilizer Tip
(1)
Remove the static discharger (2) (Ref. TASK 23-61-41-000-001).
(2)
Remove the screws (3).
R (3) Attach the SLING - DORSAL FIN, LEADING EDGES, END CAP R (98D55307531001) to a crane.
(4)
Prepare the vertical stabilizer tip for hoisting.
(a)
Remove and discard the self-adhesive disc from the hoisting point.
(b)
Remove the plastic plugs from the hoisting point.
(c)
Install the hoist fitting (4) with the eye end out of the tip (1).
(d)
Attach the sling to the hoist fitting (4).
(5)
Operate the crane and slowly tighten the sling cable.
(6)
Lift the tip (1) clear of the vertical stabilizer and put it on a support.
(7)
Remove the sling.
