 (1) Put the warning notices in the flight compartment to tell persons not to operate the flight controls.
 (2) Put the warning notices in position to tell persons not to operate the hydraulic systems.
 (3) Put the access platform in position at zone 334 for the left hand trimmable horizontal stabilizer leading edge and/or zone 344 for the right hand trimmable horizontal stabilizer leading edge.

 A. Cleaning.
 CAUTION : USE ONLY THE SPECIFIED MATERIALS AND OBEY THE INSTRUCTIONS FROM_______ THE MANUFACTURERS. OTHER MATERIALS CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE SURFACE PROTECTION OF THE COMPONENTS AND THE RELATED AREA.
 (1) Clean the leading edge surface with a Lint free cloth and CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) - Apply the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) to the cloth, not the cloth to the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003). This will prevent the transfer of contamination. - Carefully clean a small area at a time and remove the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) before it becomes dry. Use a new lint free cloth frequently to make sure that the dirt and contamination is not put back on the surface. - If necessary use a soft brush to clean out any holes.
 (2) When the area is clean, wash it with fresh clean water.
 (3) Carefully dry the area with a new, dry, lint free cloth.

 B. Treatment before Painting NOTE : Only the leading edge areas not covered by the stainless steel
____ anti-erosion sections are painted. The stainless steel anti-erosion sections are not painted.
 (1)
 If the paint or primer layers are damaged do a repair (Ref. TASK 51-75-12-300-001).

 (2)
 If necessary, carefully smooth the surface to be painted with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-011) and CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003). Make sure that the primer layer does not show.

 (3)
 Remove the abrasive grit and clean the surface with a new MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-011) and CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003).

 (4)
 Remove the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) before it becomes dry, make sure you do not touch the prepared surface with your hand.

 (5)
 Apply paint to the prepared area on the THS LE (Ref. TASK 51-75-12-300-001).

 TRIMMABLE HORIZONTAL STABILIZER TRAILING EDGE - DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

 1. General.________
 A. The trailing edge of the trimmable horizontal stabilizer (THS) is found
 in zones 334 (LH) and 344 (RH). It makes a smooth surface between the
 stabilizer spar box and the elevators.

R  A. THS Trailing-edge Components. 
R  - On each side of the THS the trailing edge has: 
R  - 10 ribs 
R  - 4 panel assemblies on the upper surface 
R  - 4 panel assemblies on the lower surface 
R  - 4 access panels on the lower surface 
R  B. Rib Attachment. 
R  - The ribs are attached to the rear spar and the upper and lower shell of 
R  the spar box. Hi-Lok fasteners attach the ribs to these components. The 
R  ribs are made of laminations of Carbon-Fiber Reinforced Plastic (CFRP)
