A. Preparation for Inspection
(Ref. Fig. 602/TASK 32-43-14-991-002)
(1)
Cut and discard the safety wire (5).
(2)
Remove the screws (4) and the washers (3).
(3)
Carefully remove the cover (2) from the BDDV 2577GM (1).
(4)
Do the Inspection for Corrosion
(a)
Use a strong flashlight and inspection mirror and examine the BDDV 2577GM (1).
(b)
If no corrosion is found, do step 4. A. (5) (a).
(c)
No corrosion is permitted on:
-
the bearings and turning parts of the rocker arms (6),
-
the needles and seats,
-
the spherical head rod assemblies. If corrosion is found in these areas, replace the BDDV 2577GM (Ref. TASK 32-43-14-000-001) and (Ref. TASK 32-43-14-400-001).
(d)
If light corrosion is found on:
-
the support (9),
-
the rocker arm (6),
-
the hexagonal heads of the screws (7),
-
the hexagonal heads of the assembly (8). Lubricate these parts as follows.

(a) Use a thin brush and apply COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-011) around:
-
the 2 rocker arms (6).
-
the spherical head rod assemblies (8),
-
the support (9),
-
the needles,
-
the turning parts of the rocker arms. Carefully remove too much grease.

B. Close Up
(1)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(2)
Put the cover (2) in position on the BDDV 2577GM (1).
(3)
Install the washers (3) and the screws (4).
(4)
Tighten the screws (4) and TORQUE them to between 0.3 and 0.4 m.daN
(26.54 and 35.39 lbf.in).
(5)
Safety the screws (4) with MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-009).
