A. Removal of the Brake WARNING : THE BRAKE UNIT WEIGHS APPROXIMATELY 67kg (147lb). BE CAREFUL
_______ WHEN YOU MOVE IT TO PREVENT INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO THE WHEEL OR AXLE.
(1)
Install the PROTECTIVE CONE (J47779) on the wheel axle (6). NOTE : Slightly lubricate the outer circumference of the protective
____ tool with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-022).
(2)
Disconnect the electrical connector (9).
(3)
Put a blanking cap on the electrical connector (9).
(4)
Disconnect the hydraulic couplings (2) and (14) from the unions (3) and (13).
(5)
Install the blanking plugs
(6)
Remove the nuts (8) with the ADAPTOR (M46292) or with the ADAPTOR -BRAKE UNIT NUT (98D32403005001) or with a standart socket and extension and remove the washers (7).
(7)
Remove the brake unit (1) with the HANDLING TOOL (Q21983) or HANDLING TOOL (1324A).
(8)
If necessary, remove the brake temperature sensor (Ref. TASK 32-47-15-000-001) and retain it for installation on the new brake unit.

R R (1) Install the GUIDE CONE (Q47323-1) or the PROTECTIVE CONE (98D32403007200) on the wheel axle (6).
NOTE : Slightly lubricate the outer circumference of the protective____ tool with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-022).
(2) Disconnect the electrical connector (9).
(3) Put a blanking cap on the electrical connector (9).
(4) Disconnect the hydraulic couplings (2) and (14) from the unions (3) and (13).
(5) Install the blanking plugs
