 A. Safety Precautions
 (1) Make sure that the wheel-chocks are in position.
 (2) Set the parking brake to the OFF position. Subtask 32-42-27-860-063

 (1) Remove the wheel of the brake that you must examine (Ref. TASK 32-41-11-000-006) .

 4. Procedure

 Subtask 32-42-27-210-061-A
 A. Visual Inspection of the Brake
 (1)
 Make sure that there are no leaks of hydraulic fluid on the pistons, the hydraulic lines and the self-sealing couplings.

 (2)
 Examine the wear indicator.

 (3)
 Make sure that the heat packs are in the correct condition.

 (a)
 Make sure that the disks can move easily on the torque tube.

 (b)
 Examine the rotors and make sure that:

 -
there is no creep on the outer edge

 -
there are no cracks


 -the rotor can move freely around the torque tube
 -there is no damage to the drive blocks. . if there is damage:
 *
 if the damage is the limits of the acceptance criteria,
 (Ref. Fig. 602/TASK 32-42-27-991-006)


 *
 if the damage is out of the limits of the acceptance
 criteria,
 (Ref. Fig. 603/TASK 32-42-27-991-007-A)
 ** replace the drive blocks (Ref. TASK 32-42-27-000-001) and
 (Ref. TASK 32-42-27-400-001).

 


 (c)
 Make sure that there are no cracks on the stator assembly.

 (d)
 Make sure that there are no cracks or signs of too much heat on the torque tube.

 (e)
 Make sure that the probe of the temperature sensor moves freely.

 (f)
 Make sure that the finish of the hydraulic crown is in the correct condition.

 (g)
 Make sure that the play of the brake release is correct. Make sure that none of the pistons moves.

 (h)
 If the inspection shows damage that can prevent the normal operation of the brake unit, you must replace the brake unit. (Ref. TASK 32-42-27-000-001) (Ref. TASK 32-42-27-400-001) Remove the protectors of the axle and inspect it. (Ref. TASK 32-42-71-000-001) (Ref. TASK 32-42-71-400-001)
