R  (1) Drain the water from all of the fuel tanks (Ref. TASK 12-32-28-281-

R  B. Biocidal Shock Treatment for Moderate Contamination - using Biobor 
R  Biocide with a Metered Injection Rig 
R  CAUTION : DO NOT USE A LARGE QUANTITY OF BIOBOR BIOCIDE IN THE FUEL:_______ 
R  - MORE THAN 270 PPM IS NOT PERMITTED IN THE ENGINES 
R  - MORE THAN 1000 PPM CAN CAUSE SOLIDS IF THERE IS WATER IN THE 
R  FUEL. 
R  NOTE : It is not necessary to defuel the aircraft before you start the____ 
R  biocide treatment. AIRBUS recommends that this procedure be done 
R  with the minimum amount of fuel on board (after flight and before 
R  fuel servicing). 
R  (1) To refuel the aircraft with the correct proportion of Biobor and 
R  fuel, (270 parts per million by weight) use the formula that follows 
R  for each fuel tank. 

R  C(uf) = 270(FOB+UPLIFT)-FOB

R  Where: 
R  - C(uf) is the concentration of Biobor required in the fuel to be 
R  added in parts per million (ppm) 
R  - FOB is the fuel quantity (kg/lbs) already on board the aircraft 
R  (without added Biobor) 
R  - UPLIFT is the refuel quantity (kg/lbs) required to fill the 
R  aircraft (with Biobor added). 

R  For example, if the fuel quantity on board (FOB) was 10000 (kg/lbs) 
R  and the refuel quantity to add (UPLIFT) was 10000 (kg/lbs): 

R  C(uf) = 270(10000+10000)-10000 
R  ------------------------
R  10000 

R  C(uf) = 5390000 
R  ---------
R  10000 

R  C(uf) = 539 

R  Thus the amount of Biobor necessary in the refuel quantity (UPLIFT) 
R  is 539 ppm by weight.

R  NOTE : The concentration of Biobor in the refuel quantity must not be____ 
R  more than 1000 ppm by weight. If the result of the calculation 
R  is more than 1000 ppm, you must: 
R  - defuel the aircraft (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001) 
R  - refuel the aircraft with the correct concentration of fuel 
R  and Biobor (270 ppm by weight) (Ref. TASK 12-11-28-650-003). 
R  (2) Record the onboard fuel quantity for each fuel tank. 
R  (3) Calculate the necessary quantity of fuel to be added to each fuel 
R  tank. 
R  (4) Use the procedure given in step (1) to calculate the correct 
R  concentration of BIOBOR to add during refuel. 
R  (5) Put MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTAMIN. PROTECT. MATERIALS (Material No. 17-
R  003) into the METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL ADDITIVES 
R  INC.(CAGE CODE 0U7J1). 
R  (6) Make sure that the METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL 
R  ADDITIVES INC.(CAGE CODE 0U7J1) is correctly electrically bonded. 
R  (7) Connect the fuel tanker to the input side of a METERING EQUIPMENT -
