R (3) Obey the fuel safety procedures when you do work on the fuel system
R (Ref. TASK 28-00-00-910-001).
R (4) Put warning notices in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate:
R - the aircraft engines
R - the flap/slat system
R - the fuel system.
R Subtask 28-11-00-860-097
R B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
R WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT ALL THE CIRCUITS IN MAINTENANCE ARE ISOLATED_______
R BEFORE YOU SUPPLY ELECTRICAL POWER TO THE AIRCRAFT.
R (1) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-
R 002).
R (2) Do the EIS start procedure (ECAM only) (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
R (3) On panel 115VU, make sure that the ENG 1 and 2 switches are in the
R OFF position.
R Subtask 28-11-00-960-050
R C. Replace the Fuel Filter Elements
R (1) Replace the No. 1 and 2 engine fuel filter elements (Ref. TASK 73-11-
R 10-920-001).
R (2) Replace the APU fuel filter element:
R - for the 131-9(A) APU (Ref. TASK 49-32-41-920-001)
R - for the GTCP 36-300 APU (Ref. TASK 49-32-11-610-001)
R - for the APS 3200 APU (Ref. TASK 49-32-11-610-002).
R 4. Procedure_________

R A. Biocidal Shock Treatment for Moderate Contamination - With Fuel Mixed
R with Biobor Biocide
R (1) Drain the water from all of the fuel tanks (Ref. TASK 12-32-28-281-
R 001).
R (2) Defuel the aircraft (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
R (3) Drain the remaining fuel from all of the tanks (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-
R 650-003).
R (4) In not more than 10 days, refuel all the fuel tanks to the maximum
R capacity, with fuel mixed with MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTAMIN. PROTECT.
R MATERIALS (Material No. 17-003), at a concentration of 270 ppm (by
R weight) (Ref. TASK 12-11-28-650-003).
R NOTE : AIRBUS recommends that you refuel the aircraft to the maximum____
R capacity. If this is not done (for operational reasons)
R microbiological contamination can stay in the upper part of
R the tanks.
R Subtask 28-11-00-860-098
R B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
R (1) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
R (2) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-
R 002).
R Subtask 28-11-00-670-051
R C. Fuel System Treatment
R (1) Let the fuel stay in the tanks for between 36 and 72 hours.
R NOTE : In a high ambient temperature, the soak time must be a minimum____
R of 36 hours. In a low ambient temperature, the soak time must
R be a minimum of 72 hours. AIRBUS recommends that you always
R let the fuel stay in the tanks for 72 hours.
R (2) During the soak time:
R - do not move the aircraft
R - do not operate the fuel pumps or APU
R - do not do water drain tests, a high concentration of biocide will
R be in the sample.
R (3) After the soak time, the fuel and biocide is burned through the APU
R and engines during normal operations.
R NOTE : Obey the engine manufacturers restrictions and guidelines for____
R your aircraft.
R 5. Close-up________
R Subtask 28-11-00-942-108
R A. Removal of Equipment
R NOTE : For disposal of waste fuel, refer to the local regulations.____
R (1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other
R items.
R (2) Remove the warning notice(s).
R (3) Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and
R standard tools and all other items.
