(2) Other Additives:
(a) Use of Dyed Fuels on Airbus Aircraft
The use of fuel that contains red dye additive (Solvent Red 164) must be kept to the minimum necessary and for emergencies only. There are limits to the number of uses and the permitted concentration of the additive.
If a refuel with the additive occurs, the fuel can be used at a maximum concentration of 0.41 milligrams to each liter of fuel. The concentration must be tested with the Petrospec JT-100 Analyzer, and must not be more than the maximum concentration given above.
There is also a limit of three refuels with fuel that contains the additive. If a fourth refuel occurs with fuel that contains the additive, you must tell the engine manufacturer. This is to get the correct maintenance action during the next 24 hours. The aircraft can continue in revenue service, but no more refuels are permitted with fuel that contains the additive.
You must tell the engine manufacturer each time the aircraft is refuelled with fuel that contains the additive. You must also
