R  (1) Put MICROBIOLOGICAL CONTAMIN. PROTECT. MATERIALS (Material No. 17-
R  003A) into the METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL ADDITIVES 
R  INC.(CAGE CODE 0U7J1). 
R  (2) Make sure that the METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL 
R  ADDITIVES INC.(CAGE CODE 0U7J1) is correctly electrically bonded. 
R  (3) Connect the output side of the METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS 
R  FUEL ADDITIVES INC.(CAGE CODE 0U7J1) to the aircraft. 
R  (4) Connect the fuel tanker to the input side of a METERING EQUIPMENT -
R  BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL ADDITIVES INC.(CAGE CODE 0U7J1). 
R  (5) Refuel the aircraft with fuel mixed with Kathon at a concentration of 
R  100 ppm (by volume) (Ref. TASK 12-11-28-650-004). 
R  (6) Disconnect the METERING EQUIPMENT - BIOCIDE, HAMMONDS FUEL ADDITIVES 
R  INC.(CAGE CODE 0U7J1) and the tanker from the aircraft.

 

R  (7) Let the fuel stay in the tanks for between 12 and 24 hours. 
R  NOTE : In a high ambient temperature, the soak time must be a minimum____ 
R  of 12 hours. In a low ambient temperature, the soak time must 
R  be a minimum of 24 hours. AIRBUS recommends that you always 
R  let the fuel stay in the tanks for 24 hours. 
R  (8) During the soak time: 
R  - do not move the aircraft 
R  - do not operate the fuel pumps or APU 
R  - do not do water drain tests, a high concentration of biocide will 
R  be in the sample. 
R  (9) After the soak time, the fuel and biocide is burned through the APU 
R  and engines during normal operations. 
R  NOTE : Obey the engine manufacturers restrictions and guidelines for____ 
R  your aircraft.

R  - for the APS 3200 APU (Ref. TASK 49-32-11-610-002).

R  C. Contamination Check 
R  (1) Do the sampling procedure again in less than 10 days (but after a 
R  minimum of 5 flights) to check for contamination (Ref. TASK 12-32-28-
