Make sure that the applicable wing tank surge door 540BZ(640BZ) is open and that the HOOK-COVER (RIB2-SURGE DOORS) (98D57004014000) is installed.

A. Preparation for Installation
(1)
Clean the component interfaces and the adjacent area with a MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) made moist with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-026).
(2)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Apply FUELS (Material No. 01-001) or COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-012) to the new O-ring (4), O-ring (7) and O-ring (9).

B. Installation of the Water Drain Valve
(1)
Install the O-ring (4) on the union (3).
(2)
Install and tighten the union (3) on the water drain valve (5).
(3)
Put the bolts (8) in position then install one O-ring (7) on each bolt (8).
(4)
Install the O-ring (9) on the water drain valve (5).
(5)
Install the water drain valve (5) then install and tighten the nuts (6).
(6)
Remove the blanking cap from the end of the pipe (1).
(7)
Carefully install the pipe (1) in the union (3) then install and tighten the nut (2).
(8)
Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-007) to the nuts (6) and the ends of the bolts (8).

B. Installation of the Water Drain Valve
(1)
Install the O-ring (4) on the union (3).
(2)
Install and tighten the union (3) on the water drain valve (5). NOTE : You must bond one of the bolts (8) (Ref. TASK 28-11-41-991-

003) (Ref. TASK 20-28-00-912-002).
(3)
Put the bolts (8) in position then install one O-ring (7) on each bolt (8).
(4)
Install the O-ring (9) on the water drain valve (5).

Install the water drain valve (5) then install and tighten the nuts (6).
(6)
Remove the blanking cap from the end of the pipe (1).
(7)
Carefully install the pipe (1) in the union (3) then install and tighten the nut (2).
