You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2)
Put a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls or the landing gear doors.
(3)
Put the safety barriers in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1)
Defuel the aircraft (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
(2)
Drain the remaining fuel from the fuel and vent surge tanks (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Extend the flaps fully (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER is on the slat/flap control lever.
(3)
Extend the spoilers (Ref. TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(4)
Make sure that the COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER is on the spoiler servo-controls.

(1) Put an access platform in position below the applicable access panel 550AB, 650AB.
(2) Open the main gear doors (Ref. TASK 32-12-00-010-001).
(3) Make sure that the GROUND LOCK SLEEVE (460005835) is on the applicable main gear door actuator.
(4) Put an adjustable access platform below the applicable zones 521(621) and 522(622).
