A. Safety Precautions
WARNING : OBEY THE SAFETY PROCEDURES WHEN YOU DO WORK IN A FUEL TANK.

(1)
You must obey the fuel safety procedures (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-001) when you do work in a fuel tank.
(2)
Put a warning notice in the cockpit to tell persons not to operate the flight controls and the landing gear doors.
(3)
Put the safety barriers in position.

B. Fuel Configuration
(1) Defuel the applicable wing tanks and the center tank (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-001).
NOTE : Defuel the center tank for the LH wing tanks only.

(2) Drain the fuel that remains from the wing, the vent surge and, if applicable, the center tanks (Ref. TASK 28-25-00-650-003).

C. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Extend the flaps fully (Ref. TASK 27-50-00-866-008).
(2)
Make sure that the LOCKING TOOL - FLAP/SLAT CONTROL LEVER is on the slat/flap control lever.
(3)
Extend the spoilers (Ref. TASK 27-60-00-866-002).
(4)
Make sure that the COLLAR-SAFETY, SPOILER is on the spoiler servo-controls.
