R  (2) Remove the applicable access panels. 
R  (a) To get access to the front of the fuel tank, remove the 
R  applicable wing leading-edge access panels. 
R  (b) To get access to the rear of the fuel tank, remove the applicable 
R  wing trailing-edge access panels. 
R  (c) To get access to the center tank, remove the applicable belly 
R  fairing access panel. 
R  (3) If applicable, remove the fuel tank access panels (Ref. TASK 57-27-
R  11-000-001) (Ref. TASK 57-17-11-000-001) (Ref. TASK 57-27-11-000-
R  002). 
R  (4) Get access to the applicable fuel tank (Ref. TASK 28-10-00-910-002).

 (1)
 Make sure the area around the leak is clean and dry.

 (2)
 On the external surface of the fuel tank, attach a suitable artificial chamber over the leak area with BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-052).

 NOTE : The artificial compression chamber is made from a suitable
____
 plastic bag.

 (3)
 Attach the helium supply pipe to the artificial compression chamber with BONDING AND ADHESIVE COMPOUNDS (Material No. 08-052).

 (4)
 Connect the helium supply that can deliver 0.2 bar (2.9 psi) to the artificial compression chamber.

 4. Procedure

 A. Leak Test
 (1)
 Supply helium to the artificial compression chamber at a constant pressure of 0.2 bar (2.9 psi).

 (2)
 Seal all helium leaks with the aluminium tape.

 (3)
 Inside the tank use the leak detector to find the internal leak point. Start at a position that is opposite the external leak and move the detector along adjacent stringers and ribs, until the exit for the helium is found.

 NOTE : A fuel leak can track for a long distance in the aircraft
____
 structure.

 (4) Do the necessary repair procedure (Ref. TASK 51-76-12-300-001).

 If applicable, install the wing leading-edge access panels.

 (5)
 If applicable, install the wing trailing-edge access panels.

 (6) If applicable, install the belly fairing access panels.

 If applicable, install the wing leading-edge access panels.

 If applicable, install the wing trailing-edge access panels.

 (6)
 If applicable, install the belly fairing access panels.

 Remove the access platform(s).

 (2)
 Remove the ground support and maintenance equipment, the special and standard tools and all other items.

 Remove the warning notice(s).
