 (c)  Add accelerator material to the scale on top of the base material until the scale is balanced.
 NOTE: Always use accelerator material with base material
____ from same repair kit. Do not mix the contents of one repair kit with the contents of a different kit.
 CAUTION: MAKE SURE NO AIR BUBBLES ARE IN THE SEALANT WHEN YOU MIX
_______ IT. IF THERE ARE AIR BUBBLES IN THE SEALANT, IT WILL NOT BOND CORRECTLY.
 (d)  
Mix the accelerator material and the base material until the sealant has a constant, equal color. 1) If you do not have a machine to mix the sealant, use a

 clean spatula.

 (e)  
Put the sealant in a container cleaned with the MEK solvent or an approved alternative solvent.


 NOTE:____You can use the sealant after this step. Refer to Figure 801 for the applicable time limits.
 F. Correctly Keep the Mixed BMS 5-26 Sealant Compound

 CAUTION:_______DO NOT COOL THE MIXED SEALANT AGAIN IF IT WAS FROZEN. YOU CANNOT MAKE A GOOD SEAL WITH SEALANT THAT WAS FROZEN MORE THAN ONCE.
 (1)  If you do not use the mixed BMS 5-26 sealant immediately, you can keep the sealant for a longer time in a cooler.
 (a)  
Put the sealant in a sealed container.

 (b)  
Write this data on the container: 1) The date you mixed the sealant 2) The time you mixed the sealant 3) The class of the sealant 4) The sealant manufacturer 5) The date when the sealant cannot be used.

 (c)  
Discard all of the sealant kept for more than 21 days at -40°F (-40°C).

 (d)  
Discard all of the sealant kept for more than 7 days at -20°F (-28.9°C).

 G. Sealant Curing
 S 398-331
 (1)  
You must let the BMS 5-26 Type II sealant cure until it is tack-free and for the minimum time (Fig. 801) before you continue maintenance operations in the fuel tank or refuel the fuel tank.

 (2)  
Pro-Seal 860, B 1/6 can touch fuel after the sealant is tack-free and a minimum of 2 hours after you applied the sealant (Fig. 801).

 (3)  
PR-1826 B-1/4 and PR-1826 B-1/4 have a tack-free time of 1 hour (Fig. 801).

 WARNING: DO NOT START OR STOP THE AIR BLOWER WITH THE AIR HOSE IN THE
_______ FUEL TANK. OBEY ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS WHEN YOU USE WARM AIR. FAILURE TO OBEY ALL SAFETY PRECAUTIONS COULD CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
 CAUTION: DO NOT APPLY THE SEALANT WHEN THE STRUCTURE TEMPERATURE IS LESS
_______ THAN 50°F (10°C) OR MORE THAN 140°F (60°C) . THE SEALANT WILL NOT DRY CORRECTLY IF THE STRUCTURE TEMPERATURE IS OUT OF RANGE.
 (4) These are the best conditions for the sealant to bond permanently:
 (a)  
An ambient temperature of 77°F (25°C)

 (b)  
A relative humidity of 50 |5 percent

 (c)  
The area must have a good flow of air.

 (5)  Relative humidity is important to the cure time for sealants.
 (a)  
You must know the relative humidity at all times during the sealant operations.

 (b)  
If the relative humidity is less than 40 percent, it causes the the sealant to dry more slowly.
