E. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Install the access door for the fuel tank (AMM 28-11-11/401).

Fill the applicable tank with fuel and do a check for leaks (AMM 12-11-00/301).

Drain a small quantity of fuel from the tank to make sure the valve operates correctly.

CAUTION: MAKE SURE THE SCREWDRIVER HAS A TIGHT FIT WITH THE VALVE
_______ OUTLET. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE VALVE OUTLET WITH THE SCREWDRIVER.
(1)
With a screwdriver, push the poppet up while you turn it counterclockwise.

Remove the screwdriver to cause the poppet to fall into the seal replacement position (Fig. 202).
NOTE: A small quantity of fuel can drain from the tank.

(3) Replace the O-ring on the poppet.

(4) Close the poppet.
(a)
With the screwdriver, push the poppet up and turn it clockwise.
(b)
Remove the screwdriver.
(c)
Make sure the poppet stays in its closed position and that there are no fuel leaks.

5. Primary Drain Seal O-ring Replacement (Sump Drain Valve P/N 87-5273)_____________________________________
A. Access

305 Left Fuel Tank
405 Right Fuel Tank
B. Procedure
(1) S 032-021Loosen and remove the valve core plug and the valve poppet with a socket wrench.
(2) S 032-022Remove and discard the valve core O-ring and primary O-ring on the valve poppet.
(3) S 432-023Install a new valve core O-ring and a new valve poppet O-ring.
(4) S 432-024Install valve poppet and the valve core. (a) With the socket wrench, tighten the valve poppet to a maximum torque of 50 pound-inches with the socket wrench.
(5) S 652-025Drain a small quantity of fuel from the tank to make sure the valve operates correctly and has a good seal.
