 2) Push the tape down tightly with an even and constant
 pressure. 3) Push down tightly on the full strip of tape. 4) Remove the tape from the surface in one quick movement away
 from the surface. 5) Examine the surface and the tape for removed finish or loosened finish. 6) If you find some removed finish or loosened finish, remove all damaged finish from the surface.
 (d)  
Use the tape to do a check of other areas that can have loose finish.

 (e)  
Clean the area with a vacuum cleaner to remove the flakes of the used finish and other unwanted material.

 Repair the areas where the sealant has damage or where there is no sealant (AMM 28-11-00/801).

 5.  Application of Corrosion Resistant Finish (Topcoat)___________________________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
You apply the corrosion resistant finish (topcoat) to give protection to the internal structure of the fuel tank. It also gives protection to the surfaces of tubing in the tank. It is specially important in the protection of the bottom of the tank and the bottom part of the sides of the tank.

 (2)  
It is not necessary to apply corrosion resistant finish to give protection to the sealant in the fuel tank. Corrosion resistant finish can be applied on the top of a sealant layer to give protection to an adjacent area of bare (anodized) metal. It is usually easier to apply the finish to the sealant than it is to mask the sealant. But the corrosion resistant finish is not necessary for the protection of the sealant layer. It is only necessary for the protection of metal without sealant.

 (3)  
BMS 10-20 Type II and MIL-C-27725 are two types of corrosion resistant finish which are approved to use in the fuel tank. You can make more repairs to the sealant on an area where you applied BMS 10-20 Type II finish. But the finish must be fully dry. You can only apply the MIL-C-27725 finish as the top layer after the sealant is fully dry and bonded (Ref 28-11-00/801).
