NOTE: It is a good procedure to replace the teflon bushing
____ supplied with this nozzle with a locally fabricated brass bushing. The nozzle is made to have a source of saturated steam and a source of cold water attached. You must adjust each supply with a set of valves to supply a spray of approximately 100 psi, with a maximum temperature of 150°F, 6 inches from the nozzle end.

Do the procedure: "Fuel Tank Purging and Entry" (Ref 28-10-00/201).

Remove the applicable access doors for the fuel tank in the area that you must clean (Ref 28-11-11/401, 28-11-31/401).

Remove the applicable sump drain valve (AMM 28-11-41/401, 28-11-61/201).

Remove the necessary fuel tank equipment and support brackets to get access to the area that you must clean.
(a) Point the steam at approximately a 45-degree angle to the surface.

(6) While you clean with the steam, obey these precautions:

The person who does the task must have these items for protection: 1) Asbestos gloves 2) A full face mask 3) An asbestos hood or a rubber hood.
(b)
Use a steam line with a valve that closes automatically when you release it (a "dead man" valve).

Use air movers to have a good flow of air in the tanks.
