C. Mix the Corrosion Resistant Finish

WARNING: MAKE SURE THERE IS A GOOD FLOW OF AIR IN THE AREA WHERE YOU MIX
_______ THE MATERIALS. MAKE SURE ONLY APPROVED PERSONS WITH RESPIRATORS MIX THE MATERIALS AND ARE IN THE AREA. SOME OF THE MATERIALS USED TO MIX BMS 10-20 TYPE II OR MIL-C-27725 FINISH COMPOUNDS ARE POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE.
(1)
Make sure the materials are at a temperature between 60°F and 90°F (15.6°C to 32.2°C) before you mix them.

Measure volumes of these materials in the correct proportion:
(a)
The base material
(b)
The catalyst
(c)
The reducer or thinner if you are scheduled to apply the corrosion resistant finish with a spray gun (Fig. 702).

Refer to the manufacturer's instructions to mix the base material and the catalyst.
(4)
Add a reducer or a thinner if it is necessary.

Do not use the corrosion resistant finish until a minimum of 1 hour after you mix it.

(6) Immediately after you mix the corrosion resistant finish, write this data on the container that contains the finish:
(a)
The date you mixed the finish
(b)
The time you mixed the finish
(c)
The usable life expiration from the initial container of the finish.
